i recieved this same error message when i went to dell support centre and ran pc checkup...failed "targeted read test" and other tests but sometimes it shows the other tests and sometimes it don't...i permit my friend have remote access but she said aught was wrong

I got the aforementioned error bulletin as John John MVP when I ran dell support center pc checkup.."Targeted Read Test"..Failed I also got this message "Smart Short Cocky Test"..Failed. How do I gear up these errors

I only had the aforementioned problem but I fixed it without Replacing the Hard Drive. What y'all need to do is goto the manufactures website and Download the BIOS and chipset Download if its Intel download the Hardware and reinstall information technology volition do it automatically. I went to the Dell website looked up my computer and reinstalled all the Hardware . Information technology worked perfect. The back up Center kept telling me I needed to purchase a New Hard drive this Laptop is only 12 Months Onetime . anyway good luck this should take care of your issues if not get back to me and ill help you further and transport you the link.

When I ran the Dell PC Checkup (on my Dell Inspiron Laptop) all but these 2 tests passed:
Targeted Examination Read - Failed (Error Code WHD20-V0D)
SMART Short Self Test - Failed (Error Code WHD16-Q16)
Dell Customer Support said hard bulldoze failure was eminent. Others in the online customs suggest the hard drive may not have to be replaced.
What do the error codes indicate?

hey human being, ive had the aforementioned problem, an they recommend on getting a new hard bulldoze to fix the problem but i cam across you and im just wondering, have your solution stock-still the problem ever since? a reply would exist appreciated man
